Synopsis
This is the story of an Egyptian Sephardi woman who revolutionized fashion but whose name remains unknown. Gaby Aghion, a communist in Egypt, emigrated to France and later evolved in the 1950s Saint-Germain-des-Prés intellectual circles. The world's first female artistic director, who brought in designers including Karl Lagerfeld, she liberated women from their Haute Couture clothes, by creating light and vaporous outfits, inventing a new idea of prêt-à-porter with Brigitte Bardot, Jackie Kennedy, and Maria Callas as clients.
